A:  The deadline for applications is March 1, 2023. Admissions decisions will be made by April 2023.

Q:  What commitment must the Justice, Equity, and Diversity Institute cohort members make to the program?

A:  A full academic year commitment to participate enthusiastically in all aspects of the program. This includes: two residential retreats (opening and closing), one residential conference, one regional governance workshop, a series of webinars, the annual NYSAIS Diversity Symposium, a mentor partnership and an online community with regular meetings.

Q:  How is this program different from other leadership programs?

A:  There are several outstanding leadership programs for independent school leaders. Participants will learn from facilitators, experienced independent school leaders, peers within their cohort group, and their mentors.

Q: This seems like a big commitment. How will I fit it all in?

A: The Institute has been created for busy professionals working on a full-time basis. The pace of the program will be manageable.

Q:  Is this a degree program? Is it possible to receive academic credit for the Justice, Equity, and Diversity Institute?

A:  Cohort members will receive a certificate of completion after meeting all program requirements. The Justice, Equity, and Diversity Institute is not currently affiliated with a credit-granting college.
